University of Kentucky Football Tweets Become Billboards [VIDEO]
Kentucky’s turning #WEAREUK football tweets into billboards, which is a cool idea and all, but you have to wonder whether the state’s billboards would be much more thoroughly populated if basketball tweets were used instead. Of course, Louisville’s already preparing a retort.
The campaign does look nice, though:
Nothing like a little trash talk in the summertime to get the hatred simmering between two long-time rivals.
Louisville and Kentucky are doing their best to get the blood boiling with months still to go between their showdown in the season opener Sept. 2. What is interesting about this latest flareup in the bitter feud between the two schools is that the trash talk actually involves football.
“The University of Kentucky is known for its successful sports program, most notably the basketball and football teams. Now the football program has launched #Weareuk, a crowdsourced initiative that places tweets on billboards and puts fans in the official poster.
Anyone who uses the #Weareuk hashtag will have their tweet or Instagram photo linked to the site. From there anything posted can, and many already have been, used in billboards across the state.”
